One of the best eaterie for Italian food in Tarzana is La Finestra. I adore the dishes how they prepared and served. If u searching for best in Tarzana I would say La Finesta is the right one to step in.
We went in with a medium size group ( 6 ), and were seated at a table that was a bit too small. Questioned if we could get a larger table & were instantly accommodated!
Food was excellent. Lasagna & wine were especially well-liked by my table. Waiters attempted very hard to accommodate whatever we wanted : several times we demanded a dish that we couldn’t find on the menu ( Veal Parmigana & Eggplant Parmigana was 2 of them ) and the waiter told us “It’s not on our menu, but we will make it for you anyway.” The pizza section of the menu even discussed that explicitly ( something like “If you don’t see the pizza you want, let us know and we’ll try and make it for you” ).
Waiters also did an incredible job dealing with two of our party who were in their late 70s and required some handholding [not literally]. I do not come to this area quite often, but this is a place worth returning to the next time I’m in the area.
I was surprised by the service at La Finestra. The staff was truly friendly and it virtually felt like a family atmosphere. Someone who seemed as if he was the owner helped us with the wine selection and even gave us a sample since we did not know what to order. My fianc had no problem getting his water re-filled as they actually did so without even being asked ( really unusual at restaurants ).
I ordered the linguine alla vongole ( clams ) and it was extremely good…clams tasted fresh. When I asked one of the waiters if they’d a b-day candle since we were celebrating our friend’s b-day, he claimed yes and right away offered to comp the tiramisu. At that point I was dumbfounded. When we were leaving, another waiter asked us what our ethicality was and when I answered “Filipino”, he claimed thanks in Tagalog ( filipino dialect ). The waiters were all Caucasian incidentally. Aside from the wonderful food, the service was wonderful! The ambiance was also nice as it was dim with candlelight.
If you are searching for a Restaurants San Fernando Valley then this is a great place to visit.
